Vertical Village Cooperative
Project Roadmap
Your 6-Year Journey to Build Your Dream Home
You may choose to exit at any stage — we are committed to a smooth, positive experience
From registration to your own land title — a clear, step-by-step journey.
This is the roadmap for the Vertical Village Cooperative Land Project. The 15 steps of your journey are organised into five clear stages below. Each stage shows what happens, how long it takes, and what you need to do.
This timeline is indicative only and may vary depending on council approvals, infrastructure requirements, market conditions and statutory processes.
Patience and Location Can Be a Powerful Combination.
Entry Process — Registration & Purchase
Join the cooperative and secure your stake
Weeks 1–4
Prospective members join the cooperative by completing a formal registration, providing photo ID, and making the initial instalment. Each payment is acknowledged with an official receipt, and upon confirmation of the initial payment, members receive a Deed of Purchase certifying their stake in the land.
Sign your Deed of Purchase
Active Participation — Payments & Trust Certificate
Complete your payments and receive your trust share
Up to 3.5 Years
Members continue their payments as per the cooperative's schedule, with each instalment documented through receipts. Once all agreed payments are completed and the cooperative finalises the land purchase (project settlement, 9 March 2029), members are issued a Unit Trust Certificate confirming their ownership share in the collectively held land trust.
Project settlement is targeted for 9 March 2029. The Unit Trust structure formalises collective ownership of the land.
Your Trust Certificate confirms your share
Income Generation — Agro-Tourism Development
Generate interim income while awaiting rezoning
1–2 Years
Members develop agro-tourism ventures on the land to generate interim income. These ventures help cover holding costs and demonstrate productive use of the land while formal rezoning and development approvals are pending. Participation in this phase is optional.
Activities may include hayrides, farmers' markets, and pick-your-own harvest events. This phase is optional and member-driven.
Farm-based experiences & community income
Preparation for Subdivision — Planning & Infrastructure
Secure approvals and build the infrastructure
1–1.5 Years
The cooperative pools remaining funds to cover development costs and works with local authorities to secure rezoning and subdivision approvals. Experienced civil engineers then design and begin construction of site infrastructure — roads, water, sewer, drainage and utilities — in accordance with council standards.
Landscaping and public spaces are also developed at this stage. Development costs may be paid upfront or over 24 months.
Civil works: roads, water, sewer & utilities
Final Subdivision & Allocation — Lot Distribution
Receive your individual land title
6–12 Months
The property is officially surveyed and divided into individual residential lots under the approved plan. To ensure fairness, specific lot assignments are determined by a public lottery draw. After the draw, each member receives the formal title or deed for their allocated lot, transferring ownership from the cooperative to the individual.
STCA = Subject to Council Approval. Once your lot is registered in your name, you are free to build, hold, or transfer it.
